About US

It is a privilege to welcome you to Rickmansworth School

Rickmansworth School is a successful partially selective comprehensive Academy which has achieved significant improvement at all key stages. This has been recognised by Ofsted, who visited the School in September 2013, and who graded it as good across all areas.  We are committed to moving the School forward to achieving outstanding status.  Operating on a foundation of traditional values, Rickmansworth is an institution that welcomes change and regards itself as being at the forefront of development. We are a centre of excellence in Science and the Performing Arts, and the hub school for the local sports partnership.

It is my personal belief for a school to be successful we need to aim for excellence in all we do.   Every child deserves the very best and at Rickmansworth School our goal is to provide this for their education. We set high academic standards and ensure our students learn in an environment which develops values of respect, courtesy, consideration and tolerance.

Over the past three years the School has undergone a refurbishment programme including the construction of a new sports hall, swimming pool and dining hall.  We have modernised the Modern Foreign Languages Faculty, including the installation of a new languages laboratory, the Mathematics Faculty, created new Science laboratories, refurbished the English Block, and the School Hall.  We have strategic improvement plan to refurbish the whole school site.

Values and Ethos

As a School we welcome the views of all our stakeholders and parents will have the opportunity to meet me at Consultation and Information Evenings, at Headteacher’s Surgeries in which you can have a personal appointment and also at Parent Panel in which we discuss current and future plans and policies.

At Rickmansworth we promote the Ricky R’s, we want our students to do their best and to become good citizens. We endeavour for them to:

be Responsible
show Respect
form positive Relationships
to be Resourceful
to be Resilient
and to be Reflective
