"Our pupils are creative because they are freed from conventional thinking and allowed to pursue their own thoughts and ideas."

School Sports Partnership

The School is proud to be the hub-site for the Three Rivers and Watford School Sports Partnership; a collaboration of 48 primary, secondary and special schools. Since the formation of the School Sports Partnership in 2005, over 10,000 opportunities for young people to take part in a wide range of sports, competitions and leadership roles have been created each year.

Working alongside secondary colleagues from Francis Combe Academy, Garston Manor School, Parmiter’s School, St Clement Danes School and St Joan of Arc School, the Partnership continues to increase the opportunities for young people to access high quality PE and school sport across the Three Rivers and Watford districts.

Students at Rickmansworth are invited to take on important leadership roles, liaising with local primary school children to facilitate sporting events, as well we taking on additional responsibilities to support their peers in the PE department. There are opportunities to gain nationally accredited coaching and officiating awards through the Partnership, many of which contribute towards the extra-curricular life of the school.

The Partnership also offers a broad and varied competition structure, allowing students to represent their schools in a range of sports complimenting the already well-established extra-curricular provision within the PE department. Overall, there are 37 additional competitions that students can take part in, with opportunities to progress to county, regional and national finals in many sports
