10/11/17 Head's weekly message and letters
10th November 2017 | Head's Weekly Message |

Dear Parents and Carers

On Monday 13 November from 3.45-6.15pm, site plans of the School expansion will be on show in the Dining Hall Extension to which you are all invited to drop-in to view.  Members of the Expansion Team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Following the Ofsted letter that I sent out on Monday I would like to highlight some specific points the Inspectors made, which as a School we are very proud of:

‘Staff have been galvanised so that each pupil is given every opportunity to achieve their best.’

‘The School has made some notable success in its pursuit of excellence across all areas.’

‘Pupils at Rickmansworth School feel safe, are safe and know how to stay safe.’

‘Students told inspectors the staff teach them well, provide help outside of lessons, and guide and support them with their applications for further education, employment or training.’

‘Elements of the Sixth Form, which were judged to be outstanding at the previous inspection, remain so.’

One student who joined the Sixth Form from another school said, ‘I was made to feel very welcome because all the teachers and other students are so friendly and approachable.’

Tickets can still be purchased for the Autumn Concert on 14 November at 7.00pm.  Do try and come; it is a very enjoyable evening. Tickets are available at:  https://www.trybooking.co.uk/CYX

The School will be closed on 16 and 17 November for staff development.

During the upcoming building works, please note that the final pick up on site for Peter Reynolds coaches will be Tuesday 14 November; from Wednesday 15  November the coach will pick up from the bus stop on the Green until further notice.

Yours sincerely

Mr K Douglas, Headteacher
