21/12/18 Head's Message & Letters
21st December 2018 | Head's Weekly Message |

Dear Parents and Carers

More than half the School joined in with Christmas lunch today, which had a wonderful festive atmosphere. Congratulations to Year 11 on the way they have conducted themselves during the Trial Exams. Thank you for your understanding following the emergency closure of the School on Wednesday due to a gas leak.

Tomorrow is the last day of term and is also Christmas Jumper non-uniform day (£1 to form tutor for Save the Children charity). Students follow normal lessons until 12.05pm when School closes to students.

Peter Reynolds will run the bus 439 for the earlier finish time but buses 846 and 849 are unable to collect until 1.35pm.

We return into Week B.

Year 8 French Trip to Amiens
Last week 55 Year 8 students travelled to Rue (Somme) for their French Christmas Market Trip. The weather, despite being absolutely freezing, was glorious making the experience all the more enjoyable. The group started with a tour of the fortified town of Boulogne-sur-Mer followed by a visit to the Fournil bakery where students learnt to make French croissants, and on Thursday visited a goat farm. The teachers were very impressed by the students enthusiasm at tasting the cheese, after understanding the process of producing the milk. The visit to the Christmas Market was thoroughly appreciated by all and the students were a true credit to their families and the School.
