Head's weekly message and letters
3rd May 2019 | Head's Weekly Message |

Dear Parents and Carers

As you know we had entered a team into the Rock Challenge UK competition again this year, and last Friday they progressed through to the Regional Finals. Whilst the team won three awards, which is a great achievement in itself, they unfortunately did not win this stage and so do not progress further to the National finals. The students should be very proud of their performance and achievement and I am very grateful to Ms Hutchings and Mrs Tidy for their stellar work in helping the students’ progress so deep into the competition.

This week has seen GCSE exams begin in many subjects. My colleagues have reported Year 11 students appear to have come to them well prepared and have done themselves credit. Visiting moderators are often practising teachers themselves and they often remark on the ethos in the School and the conduct of our students.

PTA Uniform Shop

Due to external GCSE/A Level examinations taking place during the months of May and June, the weekly lunchtime School Uniform Shop and Lost Property collection will not be taking place on a Tuesday during this period.  Both will recommence on Tuesday 2 July.

Please note that two Uniform Shops are taking place on Monday 3 June (7-8pm) and Saturday 22 June (10-1pm).

Ellie Harber – Year 9

We are very proud to announce that during the Easter holidays, Ellie celebrated her first successful competition of ‘Muay Thai’ kickboxing fight in Thailand.

School production auditions

We are very proud of the professional shows that the students produced at our School productions.  Auditions for this year’s production will be held after School at 3.15pm on

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (7, 8 & 9 May) in the Scholl Hall.

Parent Panel

This meeting takes place in Sc2 on 15 May 4.00-5.00pm.

Year 13 Leavers morning is on 17 May.

Wishing you and your family a nice long bank holiday weekend.

Yours sincerely, Paul Thompson
