Head's weekly message and letters
8th November 2019 | Head's Weekly Message |

Dear Parents and Carers

During half term we had two School trips.  The Geography Trip took students to Iceland and the History Department students went to the USA.  Students were well behaved and a credit to their themselves, their parents and the School.  Thank you to all staff who gave up their time to take them.

The new half term has started well and it is a pleasure to see students working hard in their lessons.  Next week the Year 11 mock exams start so we wish them good luck.

Tickets for We Will Rock You are selling quickly, so I urge you to book yours now to avoid disappointment.

Parent governor nominations

I am happy to inform you that we have received 7 nominations from parents to become governors.  This now leads us to a ballot.  Please read my letter and complete the ballot form.  There is also information about each parent to read before making a decision.  The form should be returned to Student Reception by midday on 22 November.  Any forms received beyond this deadline cannot be accepted.  These positions are very important and represent you all as parents at the Governing Body.  May I urge you to complete the ballot form please.

Recruitment

There is an opportunity for an Admin Apprentice to gain knowledge of working within the School in: Reception, Reprographics, Welfare, HR, working with the Senior Leader Team’s administrator and the Head’s Personal Assistant.

This Apprenticeship would be led by West Herts College and pays £200 a week.   On completion of the course the successful candidate will have developed stronger organisation and customer service skills, which could lead to employment in many different fields such as hospitality, education or project management.

If you, or you know somebody who might be interested, please contact Rose Spinks, the Head’s PA at rspinks@rickmansworth.herts.sch.uk.

Yours sincerely

Mr M Fletcher, Headteacher
