Dear Parents and Carers

We will Rock You

We are midway through the performances of We Will Rock You, and for those of you who have already been to see the show, I am sure you will agree with me that the students and Performing Arts/Music Departments have produced a fantastic event.

School Closure Notification System

Please could I draw your attention to the letter on the School website requesting new parents to the School to sign up to Everbridge for notification if the School is closed due to emergency or adverse weather conditions.

Sixth Form Open Evening – 5 December

School will open at 6.45pm for a 7pm start. There will be a talk from the Headteacher, the Director of Sixth Form and the Head Boy and Girl followed by the opportunity to visit five subject areas for more specific presentations. The evening will finish at 9.15pm.  We look forward to welcoming our current Year 11 students, parents and carers to the evening.   In light of the information below, please leave adequate time for your journey.

NATO Conference – 4 & 5 December

Due to the NATO Conference many roads surrounding The Grove will be closed or re-routed.  Parents/carers are asked to allow time to complete their journey and if necessary plan an alternative route.  During this time, we will use our judgement in extending registration where it is obvious a child’s journey has been impacted.

Bus 849

Peter Reynolds have notified the School that the 849 bus route will revert back to its normal route as the Nascot Wood roadworks have finished early.

Data Protection Officer

I am pleased to inform you that we have a new Data Protection Officer, Mr Matt Lantos, who currently works for 22 other schools as a DPO.  A Privacy Notice will be sent out to all parents and carers shortly.

Foundation

Kind donations from parents via our Foundation have been used to refurbish the old Sixth Form Common Room which is now a lovely new Learning Resource Centre.  If you feel you can help the School financially, please donate via http://www.rickmansworth.herts.sch.uk/userfiles/rickmansworth/School%20Foundation%20NEW%20Donor%20Form.pdf

Fundraising – Message from the PTA

Following my message last week regarding the ability to raise funds for the PTA through the Give as You Live app.  With Cyber Weekend coming, don't forget to subscribe to Give as You Live and support Rickmansworth PTA before you start shopping!  Please click link below and install the donation reminder.  Then just shop as normal. It's that simple!

Big thanks to those already subscribed.  We have raised £81 from 61 supporters since October!  The PTA are looking to raise £30,000 this year for a new bespoke outdoor shelter for the students.
