Dear Parents and Carers
Managing Exams
As the public examinations draw near we have had William Allen from Watford Signpost in assemblies to talk to the students sitting exams this summer. These are his top tips for success and managing stress:
- Eat well
- Drink water – not coffee or sugary drinks
- Plan your revision
- Take breaks and do something creative – William says that singing is one of the best ways to do this because you are exercising and controlling your breathing (we know regulating your breathing is very important when stressed)
- In addition to helping students Sign Post have allocated 15 counselling sessions for students next week. Students have been informed how to refer themselves for one of these sessions – in short by contacting their Director of Learning.
Attendance
Children's attendance is vital to their success at School. They have to be here to learn. We have a number of successful attendance strategies and we are proud to say children's attendance at Rickmansworth has improved - the current attendance rate is 95.5% which is above the national average. Please read our Attendance Policy (located in the Governors section of the website) which indicates the School’s Attendance Policy, strategy and legal obligations.
