Virtual Events

Due to COVID-19, we are unable to hold our usual Parent Information Evenings and events in school. Instead, we have made recordings available below.

Autumn Concert and Year 7 Carol Concert

Special Thanks

Performances such as these offer a wider curriculum of learning that just cannot be taught in a classroom. In the current climate of education, schools are seeing the decline of Performing Arts more and more, and it would not be possible to have the calendar of events that we do in the 'Arts' here at Rickmansworth School if we were not given the support and dedication of Mr Fletcher as Headteacher. We really are lucky to see such investment and expansion in the Arts, so thank you for your continued commitment.

It goes without saying that all of the students have worked incredibly hard for this concert rehearsing regularly in school and at home. In such times of uncertainty around live events, the department has embraced a new platform to showcase the wide range of talent of the school in the absence of an evening performance to a live audience. It has not been without its difficulties, but we got there and I would just like to say a huge thank you to our Performing Arts technician Alex Coles for all of his hard work filming and editing the concert. This was by no means a small task and we are very grateful for your efforts—thank you.

This truly is the best part of the job - performing with talented musicians and sharing a passion for music beyond the classroom. We may nag from time to time about making it to rehearsals, but we are sincerely thankful to the performers this evening for their dedication to music and the extra-curricular activities we run. Without your involvement and commitment there would be no concerts to host.

A special thank you needs to be said to my newly appointed right hand in the music department, Mrs Finch. Since the start of term Mrs Finch has brought an array of new ideas and inspiration to the department, and because of her passion for music, the department has seen the introduction of the Samba Band and Senior Orchestra. The extensive programme we have on show reflects the hard work and dedication Mrs Finch has put into the department. Thank you for all of your hard work.

I feel it is important to personally thank all of the parents of everyone involved in this evening’s concert. As lucky as we are to have the School we work in support the arts, it is only possible to get the best out of your children because of the continued value you hold for music and the arts. Without your support evenings such as this have a very different outcome. So with the greatest sincerity, thank you.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of you for supporting this event by watching it at home. Sadly this time around we could not speak in person, but we look forward to seeing you all again soon for the forthcoming School production 'Matilda', and the Spring Concert next year.

Thank you once again for supporting the music department and most importantly the students.
