Sixth Form Admissions

Admissions Process

We welcome applications from external students to our School. Rickmansworth Sixth Form is a welcoming environment and our new students quickly settle in,  reaching their potential and becoming actively involved in our community.

Candidates are required to achieve a minimum number of 42 points from the best eight GCSEs (or equivalent). This is the same for both internal and external candidates. The point score is determined through the addition of the numerical grades awarded from subjects that are included in the DfE approved qualification list and are included in the DfE Performance tables. All subjects are equally valid for inclusion in the calculation of the best eight results

Students must also carefully read the entry requirements for each individual subject they wish to study at A Level. We understand that subject choices may change depending on final results; students are able to change their subject choices after results day if it is in the same option block and if there is space on the course.
