Extra-Curricular Opportunities

Rickmansworth School believes strongly in the importance of providing a truly rounded education that develops individuality and provides the opportunity for students to experience a wide range of extra-curricular activities and trips.

Each year group has access to a varied and rich extra-curricular programme on a weekly basis. These activities allow students to enhance their learning whilst developing a passion for specific subjects. Opportunities to participate in sport and the performing arts are extensive, but are by no means the only provision available. Science club, debating societies and study groups are just a sample of some of the other extra-curricular activities. Our extra-curricular opportunities also allow staff to share their knowledge of things they enjoy for example, American football club, folk choir and horticulture.

The School is also pleased to offer students the opportunity to take part in a variety of offsite trips ranging from local day visits to residential experiences in the UK and across the globe. We see learning outside the classroom as an important part of life at Rickmansworth School, enabling students to build a better understanding of the world around them.

Our extra-curricular activities timetable is scheduled at the beginning of each School year, giving details of activities from September to July. There may be small changes throughout the year which may not be detailed on the schedule. Students will need to be pro-active and check with individual staff members for details.

We also support students in setting up clubs or societies; please speak to your Director of Learning for further information.
